And he passed it!
If there was one thing that would have given me hope that Obama has a brain of his own (not being controlled by Pelosi) and that he has a little integrity it would have been vetoing that government spending bill. I realize that like 45% of the pork in that thing was republican and don't even get me started on how disappointed I am in the republican party (they should know better), but I would have really liked to have seen Obama say "No way guys. I promised no pork and no earmarks during my election and that is what I am going to deliver. We should be the first to show fiscal responsibility in this time of hardship." Whoa is me. Gone are the days of blissful, youthful ignorance. Now I get to understand and fret about how screwed up our government really is. I think I need to just turn off talk radio and my favorite cable news show and return to that blissful ignorance that I once had. Although, I don't think that is good either. *deep breaths* Serenity now. Serenity now! Koosh Fraba!!! It's not working! Someone give me a Xanax!

I'm too out of the loop on the political things to leave a comment, but I do have to say that I love the little flowers that are on the side of your blog! Darling. And... thank you for the knitting tips! You have SAVED me! I have a new confidence in thinking ahead to more knitting projects that had long since left me!
I don't think I would normally be that political either, but Bryan is very political and my Dad has always been that way. When you get a couple of political guys together you can't help but talk about what going on. Sorry about the rants. I will try to just stick to my knitting for a while! It's much more relaxing anyway.
Yeah, who wants to be known as Aunt Rant? ;) Cindy, when I was younger I'd get all up in arms over political shenanigans. I made calls to remind people to vote, handed out literature, even got some signs made and put them up for an anti-abortion referendum. I'm glad I did those things, but I don't know if it did any good. I'll still participate in the political process by staying sort of aware and voting, but I just don't have a lot of confidence there anymore. And I'm past getting upset about it. Ah, this rocking chair is so comfy.
um ya don't get my started...oh I know another scrpabook night to forget our worries!!
That may be the anti anxiety pill I need! Your house or mine?
