First Words

My kids have had some pretty cute first words. I guess that technically all of my kids' first words were da, but does it really count when every kid's first word is da?? I don't think so. Kaden's was "Hi". He would say it all the time. I'm sure there were more, but time has a way of making one forget. That's why I am writing this blog entry. Grace's was "caquit" (chocolate which is fitting since her pregnancy sent me on a downward spiral of chocolate euphoria) & "I Love You". Pretty cute if you ask me & totally girly. Then there is Erik who is saying a whole range of words now: Please, No No No, Poo Poo, Baby, Puppy, Daddy, Mommy, Biaper (diaper), ball, & the first of which was "Dank Doo" (Thank You). It's so fun to watch my kids grow and develop right before my eyes and kind of sad at the same time. Kaden is my oldest and he is no longer a baby, or a toddler, or a little kid. He is officially a big kid. He talks like a big kid, he is thinking like a big kid, he wants to walk to school by himself, he is getting old... It's funny though, even though I have three kids and my oldest is getting so big I don't feel any older, maybe a little more mature, but not older. At what age does one start feeling old? My Grandma D., who died at age 92, said that she never felt old on the inside. I guess that's a testimony that the body is temporal and the spirit is eternal.

That was 3years ago and my first awarness that someone thinks I am old.

Old smold. You're only as old as you feel. Although I have always said that you know you are getting up there when people start lying about your age for you.

Good luck on the Dave Ramsey thing! We took the Financial Peace University classes and loved them. Have you read his books or are you just going to cut back? I highly recommend The Total Money Makeover! In my opinion they shouldn't let people get married or better yet, graduate from high school without reading it and doing the steps. Good luck:)

I loved that first word stage. I miss hearing them trying so hard to get the word out and it still is a little off. I filmed the girls during this time and will watch it sometimes and wonder were the time went.
I’m with you on not feeling any older ether, I still feel 20. That is why they say “young at heart.”

It's true, and this is from a grandma, no matter what's going on with the body, the emotions and spirit still feel as young as ever! Still feel shy, awkward, embarrassed, silly, adventurous as always. And someday, both body and spirit will be at the peak of perfection simultaneously! Now that's worth a big chunk of "caquit!"
