Kaden started 1st grade on Monday and he can't decide if he loves it or hates it. He loves his teachers and all the different activities they do. He really likes eating at the school and of course recess is great. Yesterday he came home and said, "Mom, you should have been at lunch! They had the BEST bread sticks! Oh, they were so good!" Typical boy. Then there is the stuff he hates. He does not like waking up at 7:00 am. He does it but he doesn't like it. And then there is the amount of time he spends at school. Every day when he gets home he reminds me that it was a very too long day. I am hoping that he will get used to the wake up time and that the longer day won't seem so very long soon. All I know is that I am enjoying the perks of having a school aged child. It's nice to send Kaden off to school and put Erik down for his nap after lunch and having a few hours to do what ever I want.

I can't believe he is in 1st grade! Boy does time fly! :).
Brooklyn starts school next Friday and I think that we will be going to go through the same thing. Good Luck.
I love school! I remember Ash saying that she hated summer and I could hardly believe it, I couldnt wait to have my kids to myself again. Then I had one of those summers, and I realized how good school was, FOR BOTH OF US!
I had a love-hate thing with school too. Loved having my kids home, but kind of needed the forced structure the school schedule prompted.
Kaden sounds like his great big cousins...lunch and recess were their favorite parts of school too.
