I'm a Grandma!

We went camping with all the family Friday night and we were worried that Ginger would go into labor so we brought her with us. Nothing happened there. We all felt her cute puppies in her belly. They wiggled around for us and it was fun to feel them. We got home and had a normal Saturday and after the kids went to bed I called her in so she could sleep inside and I noticed that she was panting so I got her a drink thinking maybe she was just thirsty. Then I noticed how tight her tummy was. I said "Bryan, I think we might be having puppies tonight." So we went upstairs and the first thing she did was go under our bed and refuse to come out. After some coaxing she finally came out and we got her all settled in our bathroom with a box with towels inside and a bowl of water. So, here I am at 12:16 in the morning waiting for something to happen with Ginger. She is definitely in labor. She is quite uncomfortable and doing a lot of panting. What a long night I have in store for me. I am excited though. I will keep you posted on the action!

Well, it's about 4:00 a.m. and Ginger just had her first puppy! And it's a BOY! It's red color and looking quite cute. Mom and Baby are getting along quite nicely and now we just a few more puppies to come along.

Alright! 4:30 a.m. and we have puppy #2! And it is a GIRL! She is pure black with a little white chin. Very cute. And I don't think it's like Ginger when she was a puppy. I think this is blacker, so maybe she will stay black?

It's kind of fun to see Ginger pick up this Mommyhood thing so fast! She is acting like a pro. I haven't really had to do a thing. Just make sure they come out alright.

5:15 a.m. We have another BOY! And this one is pure black too! Who thought that with a blonde Ginger and a red Copper that we would have two black puppies? Although, this one looks a little more like Ginger did when she was born. You can see a little brown coming through.

7:00 and last but not least we have another GIRL that is black! I can't believe it! Three black and one red puppy. Ginger seems to be doing well and the puppies seem to be doing well too!

The kids saw the puppies this morning and of course they want to keep them all. We called Cordell and McCall first thing this morning to let them know about the puppies. They came over as soon as they could with Copper. I am excited to see what they are going to look like. I have never seen a peekapoo before.

I think the best thing is that they are all healthy and I don't have to worry about Ginger going into labor while we are gone anymore. Yeah! Puppies!
